IFREC Real Estate School---A start to a new career Founded in 1983, the Institute of Florida Real Estate Careers, Inc. (IFREC) was originally located in Winter Park, Florida. Within six months of inception, IFREC expanded to a site housing four classrooms. Fourteen years later, that building was demolished and IFREC relocated minutes from the previous site where it now maintains its main campus, classrooms, corporate office and bookstore in some 14,000 square feet of space. While the original administrative staff numbered just one bookkeeper and one registrar, the administrative staff has grown to seventeen and the teaching staff has grown to over thirty and climbing. In order to service its ever increasing enrollments and unparalleled growth, IFREC has additional permanent classrooms and offices in Tampa, Stuart, East Orlando, South Orlando, Kissimmee and soon Lake Mary, educating real estate students, mortgage broker students, appraisal students and home inspection students from coast to coast in Florida. Other regularly scheduled classes are held at REALTOR Associations throughout the state. IFREC has a full service marketing department working with the real estate brokerage community in hiring and recruiting and has successfully contracted with the most prestigious firms and Associations of REALTORS in the real estate industry. Additionally, IFREC has a bookstore and product sales division which offers tools of the trade to each of the teaching disciplines it covers and publishes a quarterly e-newsletter, keeping its many graduates up to date on events that affect the real estate and related industries. With documented success stories of its State Exam Prep Course, a number of smaller schools and colleges throughout the state refer their pre-license students to IFREC for this popular preparatory class. Due to its reputation and waiting lists, this class is now offered weekends and mid week to accommodate the demand. In 2005, IFREC broke all previous years’ records with an incredible 23,610 students. IFREC was inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame in 2005. Today, as we enter our 23rd year, IFREC is the oldest and largest privately owned real estate school in Central Florida and the only RealtyU affiliate in Florida.
